Train Booking Tips
Train tickets — especially for popular routes like Dhaka–Chittagong — sell out fast. Book at least 3–5 days ahead for weekend travel.
Economy seats are budget-friendly. First class and AC coaches offer more comfort. Sleeper berths are ideal for overnight journeys.
Bangladesh Railway: cancel 24h before for partial refund. IRCTC: tiered refund from 48h before. Always check operator policy at booking time.
Most rail operators allow 20–30 kg per passenger. Carry-on bags must fit in overhead racks. Check excess baggage fees before travel.
Arrive at the station 20–30 minutes before departure. Platforms can be crowded, especially at Dhaka Kamalapur and Bangkok Hua Lamphong.
